Suppliers

What supplier information should every business track?

By The REMNIVO team · Published · Updated

At minimum: insurance expiry, relevant certification expiry, contract links and a review schedule. A lapsed supplier certificate transfers their risk straight onto your books.

If a supplier causes damage while uninsured or unqualified, liability tends to travel upstream. Courts and insurers ask what due diligence you performed and whether it was current. 'We checked once, years ago' is a weak answer.

The core supplier register

  • Public/employer liability insurance expiry per supplier
  • Certifications relevant to the work (gas safe, electrical, food safety...)
  • Which of your contracts and projects depend on them
  • Scheduled reviews — even a light annual check catches drift

Turning tracking into habit

Request updated certificates 30 days before expiry, every time, without exception. Automating the reminder removes the dependence on anyone remembering — which is exactly the point of business memory.

Stop remembering it manually.
